Diginate, a UK-based printing provider, have brewed their own non-commercial beer to demonstrate a potential use of NFC tags in product labels.

In contrast to Selinko's wine verification labels, Diginate have chosen to take a more traditional approach to the functionality of the tags on the bottles of their Rough Draught beer. The tag would be used to send users to a website such as Twitter, or to launch a specific action with the help of NFC Tag Launcher.

Rough Draught is a DIY brewing project, and will not be made available for purchase. However, the combination of strong label design with NFC interactivity could easily provide an addition of novelty to commercial beers.
