A survey conducted by Evans Data Corporation has found that over 31% of mobile application developers have added support for NFC to their software offerings.

The Mobile Development Survey, which was conducted in May 2013, asked over 500 developers about the technologies that they were currently supporting in their applications, as well as the technologies they were planning to support in future development.

In addition to the 31% who have already implemented NFC features into their applications, a further 45% of respondents have plans to add NFC functionality within the next 12 months.

No information was provided about the distribution of mobile operating systems, but the popularity of the Galaxy S series (which have included NFC as a standard feature since the S3 in 2012) might suggest that these increases in NFC support in application development are most apparent in Android.
