A partnership between The Co-operative Food and Visa has resulted in the launch of a new promotion for contactless payments within London. Shoppers who pay with their Visa contactless cards at a Co-op point of sale will be able to claim a free snack during the duration of the summer promotion.

The Co-op is one of many businesses within the UK that have recently chosen to roll out contactless payments to a large number of their branches. It's likely that this promotion is being conducted to raise public awareness of the availability of contactless payment options at Co-op stores.

The promotion takes place between the 26th of June and 16th of July, with a new free treat being available every week during the promotional period. Between the 26th of June and the 2nd of July, shoppers will be able to claim a free four-finger KitKat bar by simply making a contactless payment; a 500ml bottle of water between the 3rd and 9th of July, and a pack of Walkers Ready Salted crisps between the 10th and 16th of July.

Full terms and conditions of the promotion can be found at The Co-operative's website.
