Samsung have today announced the launch of 60 NFC-enabled taxis in London, Manchester and Glasgow. The vehicles will be used to promote the company's 'Tweet To Meet Robbie Williams' competition.

Entering the competition offers the chance for fans to meet Robbie Williams, or to win tickets for his 'Take The Crown' tour.

Entries can be made by tapping an NFC-enabled phone against a reader inside the newly-branded taxis, or by tweeting a picture of the taxi with the hashtag #SamsungRobbie. Samsung have installed the NFC readers in 40 cabs in London, 10 in Manchester, and 10 in Glasgow.

The company behind the NFC element is Tapit.

I just had a ride in one of the cabs and the experience is amazing! Watching a video then I just tapped my S3 on a sticker there to participate in the Robbie competition :)

I didn't even see the tweet message on the outside...
