Orange, a leading European mobile operator, have announced a list of 20 nominees for their NFC Awards competition in France. The competition aims to provide financial rewards as well as developmental support to those who can create new ways to make use of NFC technology in mobile devices.

The 20 proposed projects can be found on the Orange NFC Awards website, though only in French. Members of the public are able to vote for their favourite project via the website, with the most popular project receiving the 'public's prize'.

There are also three prizes of €25,000, €10,000 and €5,000, which will be awarded to the top three projects as voted for by a panel of NFC professionals chaired by Jean-Paul Cottet, who is the Executive Vice President of Marketing and Innovation at Orange. Orange will also be offering a bonus of €5,000 for winning application prototypes that incorporate NFC Card Emulation mode via Orange's SIM-based secure element.

The winning applications will be announced at a closing event in Paris on the 11th of June, 2013.
